No sex life? No problem!

Research shows that achieving happiness in bed may be as simple as imagining it. If you are feeling conflicted about any aspect of your sexual life, mental imagery can help. For example, masturbation is sex. If you are masturbating, you have a healthy sex life. If you are currently single, or between love affairs, get your masturbation routine happening.

Visualization is important for mental happiness and emotional wellbeing. But there is evidence now that emotional well being contributes to physical fitness as well. It may be that visualization actually improves your physical health.

When you masturbate, play around with it for variety. Use visualization along with your favorite type of pornography. It’s no secret that here at AJAX Books we highly recommend reading material (particularly ours) to keep your brain busy and active and happy while you engage in self-pleasure. However now is an excellent time to build up a pleasure dome of sexual websites, videos, books, and music that eroticizes you.

If ‘that’ girl or guy is pissing you off with their ghosting, egomaniacal social media, or whatever else, get them back by not needing them.

Get yourself into deep masturbation pleasures. Shake it up and shake them off.

Sexual healing through imagery

Do you watch X-Men, James Bond, Charlies Angels because it makes you feel more powerful? When you are ‘down’ do you watch certain films because they make you feel better? When you are struggling in life, do you like to watch movies about people who overcome their problems?

This is not foolish.

Its an age-old technique used by spiritualists in practices like Buddhism that are related to using the imagination to conjure up images that relieve stress and anxiety.

For example, psychologists walk patients through exercises where they face their fears, go back to key trauma in childhood or examine issues of jealousy in the safe space of the psychologist’s office.

Also, visualization is a technique used by investors and creators alike to call forth new inventions, processors or businesses into the world.

These are also techniques that can be used in your sex life. If you are about to sleep with another person and you are nervous, play out the scenario in your mind first. But really do it. Lay on your bed, and imagine the small details, like eating dinner, taking a sip of wine, walking through the streets to the car. Get yourself all the way through to the bedroom, then imaging kissing, peeling off clothing, maneuvering sheets on the bed etc.

This walkthrough approach, or visualization spiritualists call it, can really help when one is getting over the nerves of a first date.

It can be used in any sexual context. Work with it and add it into your sexual self-respect repertoire.

Ten Sexiest Sean Connery Bond Moments

We wracked our brains to come up with our very favorite, top ten sexiest Sean Connery bond scenes.

What do you think of our list?

  1. Bond. James Bond.

The iconic moment when James Bond introduces himself to Sylvia Trench, and the perfectly timed music supports his relaxed menacing sexuality. He smolders in this scene and because of it, made the scene the stuff of film legend.

  1. Approaching Jill Masterton in Goldfinger

A very small moment. If you don’t watch carefully, you’ll miss it. But it is a deliciously sexy scene in which Sean’s Bond leans into Shirley Easton’s Jill. James and Jill. It’s one of our all-time favorite James Bond moments.

  1. Bathing in Diamonds are Forever.

Sean Connery, far sexier with a few years on his frame, sitting in a bath. It’s a ‘is he really naked?’ moment and its very sexy. Of course, he’s reading and enjoying a drink.

  1. Deciding to stay with Sylvia.

Here at AJAX Books we love the moment when James walks into his apartment and Sylvia trench is there playing golf earing his shirt. She talks him into staying rather than getting on with his urgent assignment. It’s one of the few moments a woman seduces James Bond off the case, and we love her for it!

  1. “You’ve had your six.”

We know we know! The violence and the misogyny can’t be ignored. James Bond gets away with both because the super spy is a parody of himself. He is stupidly extreme. One gets the sense that the intended wry humor parodies the male fantasy rather than fulfills it. From that perspective, we felt Sean Connery is sexier in this scene when he kills Dent.

  1. Bed scene in From Russia With Love

The exciting scene when James walks into his hotel room, wanders around, starts the shower and then hears something in the room. When he walks in, Tatiana Romanova is in his bed, naked with a black ribbon around her neck. What follows is a sexy tete-a-tete between the pair that results in their lovemaking. However, what we find out at the very end is that they are filmed by Rosa Klebb, which adds another dimension to the already sexually charged scene.

  1. Underneath the Mango tree

It’s probably the second most famous Bond scene after ‘Bond. James Bond.’ When Ursula Andres arrives on the scene in her white bikini asking if James is looking for shells and he replies with ‘no I’m just looking,’ we get this highly charged sexual moment that is only consummated in the final scene. It is the famous ending where the tow rope is let go and the pair embrace in the boat. This is an iconic Bond moment, and one we feel Connery should take the credit for just as much as Ursula Andres.

  1. Wrestling with Bambi and Thumper.

It’s surely one of the sexiest Bond moments in history, when he arrives at the John Lautner Chemosphere house and there is Bambi and Thumper walking around in their bikini-leather lace-up boots outfits, you just know someone has gotta get wet!

  1. Pampering with the gypsies

For us, the Gypsie pampering scene is better than the pampering scene in You Only Live Twice. Its ridiculous of course. Just because he happened to be there when the gypsies were attacked, the group offer him two women as a prize. But we had seen the women in a cat fight the night before and there is something especially sexy about Connery’s funny shyness that we find endearing and rare.

  1. Dress drops with Plenty O’Toole

Enormously sexist and very cheesy, we still loved the dress drop scene with Plenty O’Toole and still hold it as one of the best James Bond women undress moments in all the films.

RIP Sean Connery

He was by far our favorite Bond. Of course, he wasn’t ‘just James’ there were so many other wonderful films he blessed us with. So many other brilliant characters he brought to gracious life on the screens.

But for us here at AJAX Books, Sean Connery will always be the greatest James Bond. We have no problem with any of the others (and still love the movies) but his “Bond. James Bond,” passed into legendary film status. He was the one who created the super spy. Even Ian Flemming didn’t know who James Bond was and how iconic he could be until Sean Connery played him in Dr No.

We here at AJAX Books love the Bond films. It is our devotion to those films and others of their type that led us to publish parody erotica of the genre.

We are terribly sad that the time Sean Connery had is over, but we are so grateful to have been able to share in his work as his audience and to have shared the earth during the time he was here.

R.I.P. Sean Connery. Thank you for the work. You will be dreadfully missed.

Reading something sexy reduces stress

Everyone is in search of stress reduction methods these days. The good folk at Mindlab International at the University of Sussex analyzed cortisol levels and heart rates of participants prior to checking how they respond to different tasks. Reading a book lowered stress levels more than all other activities participants engaged in.

What this means is that reading is a great stress reducer.

However, when you combine your reading with an orgasm (i.e. when you read something saucy) you are likely to experience dramatic stress reduction.

“Losing yourself in a book is the ultimate relaxation,” Dr. David Lewis, researcher, and cognitive neuropsychologist said. “It really doesn’t matter what book you read, by losing yourself in a thoroughly engrossing book, you can escape from the worries and stresses of the everyday world and spend a while exploring the domain of the author’s imagination.”

“This is more than merely a distraction,” he added, “but an active engaging of the imagination as the words on the printed page stimulate your creativity and cause you to enter what is essentially an altered state of consciousness.”

We here at AJAX Books couldn’t agree more.

Which decade is the best for vintage porn?

In the world of vintage porn, viewers on Pornhub mostly searched for the 1980’s. the 1980’s are by far the most popular decade with only half the volume showing up for the next most popular decade, which is the 1990’s.

After the 1980’s and the 1990’s the next most popular decade is the 1970’s.

If the Golden Age of Porn represents the period from 1969 – 1984 (check it out on the wiki here) and the 1980’s is the most popular decade, that implies we’re all caught up in the Ron Jeremy, Tracey Adams (one of our personal favorite stars) Bambi Woods Peter North era.

Interestingly this does not include the Jenna Jameson period and the enormous impact of silicone breasts. In 1982 breast implants were gaining some notoriety because of adverse events in the medical literature. It wasn’t until the 1990’s that they were declared safer.

A person who was ten in 1985 is around fifty now. So, if it is the 55-and-over set that are watching this, one presumes it was the group were about fifteen years old when the films came out.

That probably sheds a bit more light as to why they are flocking to the internet to watch the good old porn now.

Men watch more vintage porn than women

We begin our visit to the retro porn world with the discovery that men enjoy retro porn more than women. By the whopping percentage of 36% according to Porn Hub.

So, what makes someone go and look at vintage porn?

Nostalgia is often cited as the primary reason we are attracted to vintage. A fondness for or sentimentality toward the past. In the days of mercenaries, traders, and navy personnel that spent many months or years on boats, nostalgia was considered to be a mental illness that interfered with one’s ability to function.

We no longer see nostalgia as a mental illness. Rather it is seen as a natural, common, and even positive emotion. At its most simple it contains a passion for feelings from the past that can be triggered by events as disparate as loneliness, disconnectedness, repeated sounds, tastes, textures, and times of the year.

So why do men like to visit vintage porn more than women?

Perhaps it is because they were the ones enjoying that porn back in the day? Perhaps it harkens back to illicit magazines, glimpses of forbidden film footage, and wandering into cinemas wearing dark glasses and overcoats. Except now these films are freely available thanks to the internet.

For us here at AJAX Books, we love vintage porn. We find it enormously interesting (porn always is) as a mini document about what was sexually stimulating in society at the time.

Plus, it’s just always sexy as hell.

Why we love vintage porn

Because we have a passion for pulp and sexploitation motif, we get asked quite a bit what it is with the passion for retro, vintage, and classic porn.

We have wandered through the internet a bit and found that this subject is largely underexplored – or at least ill-defined. For example, is there a difference between vintage, retro, and classic porn? What are those definitions? How to the big voices in pornography treat these trends?

Without a doubt the best place to go to begin this search is Pornhub. They are the one’s producing lots of information and have the most information to collect.

We here at AJAX Books are heavily committed to vintage porn. Therefore, we thought we might devote the entire week to a little exploration in the area.

Mostly we will conduct searches and amass information where we can, and pass our findings on to you.

So stay tuned, and while you wait for the next installment, grab yourself a hot copy of White Flesh Black Market book one, and get yourself into the mood for retro.

Hell Hath No Fury

It’s no secret that here at AJAX Books we have a passion for Nunsploitation.

We wanted to remind everyone of this excellent trailer by Rick James for the non-existent film Hell Hath No Fury.

The competition was to promote the 2007 release of Grindhouse by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.

We here at AJAX Books love it for its classic grindhouse Nunsploitation vibe. The violence and sex are staples of the genre. In this film they go for the zombie angle, unlike our Barbra Novac who takes Nunsploitation into the supernatural. (Ever seen a statue and a nun at it?)

Sexploitation is an underrated genre that deserves a lot of love.

Hell Hath No Fury remains a film yet to be made.

When they make it, pray they use Sabina Casarova in the title role.

We’d love her for the All For Nun film too.

Find out more about the film trailer here.

Porn Isn’t addictive

In this excellent article by Ari Tuckerman in Psychology Today, he argues strongly that pornography isn’t addictive.

Sex might be difficult to resist and may be hard to control, but it is not a mystical external force that makes people cheat on partners, get addicted to sleeping with hundreds of people or see you hopelessly addicted to pornography.

For porn to be addictive there must be at some level a belief that sexuality is corrupting and harmful. That acting on certain desires can take you on a slippery slope to deviant behavior or behavior that will interfere with your life goals.

All these presumptions leave out agency and a person’s ability to self-direct. They presume that people fall prey (ah-la-Adam to Eve in the garden of Eden) to lust and that they will perform acts from which they never recover.

Pornography isn’t like alcohol. It doesn’t have any more control over your actions than you allow it.
